Meet The Team

Matt Wray
Head Coach & Owner
1st Degree Black Belt
Matt is a former United States Marine Corps Infantry veteran who has been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for over 14 years and coaching for 6. Before transitioning into martial arts, he spent a decade competing in powerlifting and strongman, building a deep understanding of strength, conditioning, and the body.

He also has experience in other disciplines, but his primary focus has been Jiu-Jitsu as a long-term, sustainable way to train, improve, and stay healthy.

At League City Jiu-Jitsu, Matt focuses on creating an environment where people can train hard, stay safe, and continue improving for years — not just months.
Outside the gym, Matt continues to stay active and enjoys strength training while balancing work, family, and coaching.
